Holzmag briquetters are used in the rigid foam industry to densify EPS and PUR. Density is adjustable typically from 30 to 60 pounds per cubic foot values. Unlike other densifiers the high compaction operation of the briquetters can process fine dust, along with beads and chips.
A combo shredder-briquetter can process shapes and trim scrap with dust and beads. A video of a combo system can be seen on this site. Briquetting EPS results in efficient handling of what would be otherwise a very low-density material. Maximum use of trucking is possible with tares of 50,000 pounds per semi-load.
