Woodworking Industry

The Holzmag Briquetter has been used extensively in the woodworking industry. Installations can be found in plywood mills, MDF plants, milling and sawing operations to name a few. Pictured here are different types of wood feedstock briquets.

A video shows the briquetter processing wood shavings and dust. In addition to small particulates a combo shredder-briquetter can briquet large trim scrap parts and sheet cutouts as well as dust. A combo briquet-shredder can be seen in the videos section.

Pictures of a combo briquet shredder are shown here. Systems are available in sizes and configurations to suit requirements. They can be connected to existing cyclone collectors (see paper mills section) or they can be supplied with their own suction fan and filter group (see filter system section. Further information is available in the brochures and drawings sections of this site.

In a plywood mill sanding operation where the dust was a collection issue before the briquetter installation, briquets are now used as plant fuel.

Hardwood dust briquets can be used as a fuel with high BTU value. Please see heat table for BTU values of various types of briquets.

Piles of MDF dust which were converted to briquets for fuel purposes saved the customer disposal and transportation costs as well as providing income.

In addition to wood dust shredded scrap wood and trim stock can also be densified to briquets. See pictures here. The Holzmag shredders come with a screen to produce a maximum particulate size-different screen sizes available.
